As they did with Haiti after the devastating 2010 earthquake, UpToDate is now providing free access to its entire content to people in The Philippines as part of the Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts. Until January 31st, 2014, full Internet access (via the Internet Protocol) has been activated for the entire country; medical providers and clinicians in The Philippines can directly access all content on www.uptodate.com.

GHD and UpToDate partnered in 2009 to provide one-year complimentary subscriptions to qualifying clinicians who deliver medical care or related services, including medical education, to poor or underserved populations outside the United States of America.

Providers are invited to apply via GHDonline.org to receive a complimentary one year subscription to this leading electronic evidence-based information resource worth $500/year for a professional annual subscription in the U.S.

UTD2013To date, more than 400 subscriptions have been granted to close to 200 institutions in 60+ countries, or an estimated 9,000 clinicians. Feedback from grant recipients in a private GHDonline community has resulted in the creation or enhancement of nearly 60 UpToDate clinical topics specifically for clinicians in resource-limited settings.
